Multi-Service Eating Disorders Association (MEDA)
MEDA is the foremost eating disorders nonprofit organization in New England. At MEDA, we specialize in helping people and families who are affected by eating disorders - which have the highest mortality rates of any mental illness. We offer assessments, support groups, skills sessions and parent-family support services. We can also refer those with eating disorders to relevant specialists. MEDA is the first step toward recovery and healing.
We provide education and awareness programs to schools and organizations regionally about body confidence, eating disorders and their underlying causes to develop a compassionate community that promotes hopefulness and supports healing.
We also host an annual national conference on eating disorders as well as a walk to raise awareness and support about eating disorders.
Mentor the community in its understanding of eating disorders.
Empower individuals to live free of body, food and weight obsessions.
Develop eclectic and diversified treatment teams for clients and their loved ones.
Assist individuals and their loved ones by offering the training and support necessary for recovery.
MEDA envisions a society that accepts all body types, understands the need for a more diversified approach to care and explores alternative means to allow people to fully recover.
