Faculty from the Suzuki School of Newton will present a concert at Second Church in Newton to benefit the Space Where Every Child Can! capital campaign, which funds the purchase and renovation of the school’s new home at 1615 Beacon Street in Waban village center.
After 33 years of operation in seven different rental properties throughout Newton, the Suzuki School purchased the Staples-Craft-Wiswall farmstead in November 2017. Acquiring the farmstead was the culmination of years of searching for a permanent home while continually uprooting the school and moving operating locations every couple of years.
This concert will feature chamber works for string and piano by Bach, Vivaldi, Brahms, Smetana, Piazzolla, and Kenji Bunch. In addition to the faculty performances, there will be a silent auction, a raffle, and a post-concert reception. The fundraising goal for this event is $10,000 for the purchase and installation of a playground for the preschool.
