5K & Walk for Independence

The 5K & Walk for Independence supports the Carroll Center for the Blind’s mission of empowering those who are blind or visually impaired to achieve independence and to lead a fulfilling life. Attendees will complete a 1, 2, or 3-mile walk around the Mt. Ida campus of UMass Amherst in Newton followed by activities for all ages.

Post-walk Activities:

• Meet 2004 Red Sox World Series Champion Lenny DiNardo and Red Sox mascots Wally & Tessie!
• Try your hand at Beep Baseball and Archery and watch a police dog presentation.
• Touch-a-truck, bounce house, face painting, and crafts.

Schedule:

• Registration: 8:00am
• Walk kick-off: 9:00am
• Post-walk BBQ and activities: 9:30am to 12:00pm
