DESCRIPTION:Each year the Chamber's Lawyers Council presents an opportunity to hear first-hand from a judge about their view from the bench and some of the interesting cases they heard. This year\, we're especially pleased to invite you to a special conversation with Supreme Judicial Court Associate Justice Kimberly S. Budd. \n\n\n\nA Newton resident\, Budd was appointed to the state's highest court in 2016 by Gov\, Charlie Baker. Previously she served as Associate Justice of the Massachusetts Superior Court. Budd received a Bachelor's degree in English from Georgetown University\, graduating magna cum laude in 1988\, and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1991. Budd's grandfather Joseph Budd was the first African American police officer in Springfield\, Massachusetts\, and her father\, Wayne Budd\, is a former U.S. attorney.
