Camp JORI, located on 72 acres of land on the largest lake in Rhode Island in Wakefield, Rhode Island seeks individuals aged 18 and older for camp counselors’ positions. Camp Jori is a co-ed overnight Camp sponsored by the Jewish Community and is open to all staff and campers regardless of race, religion, gender preference.

Job Description: The Camp Counselor provides direct supervision of a groups ranging from 6 to 14 children in a summer camp setting. As part of a Counselor Team you will supervise, and guide campers through the day-to-day activities of camp, serving as a role model and ensuring emotional and physical well-being.

Qualified candidates are enthusiastic, energetic, creative and responsible individuals who exhibit sound judgment and an understanding of the impact they will have on each camper’s experience. A love of working with children is key to the success of this position. Experience is not required you will receive extensive training.

Duties:
Be a positive role model for all campers and fellow staff
Direct supervision of campers in either the Day Camp or Overnight Camp setting
Carry out programs including but not limited to: Athletics, arts, aquatics activities, and special programming. Maintain health, safety, and supervision at all times of campers.
Learn the likes/dislikes of each camper
Attend staff training week and camp from June 22nd to August 17th
