About Us

Lumière opened its doors in February 1999, and quickly became one of the best restaurants in the Boston area. For the past 17 years, Lumière has provided the Newton area with consistently excellent food and drink, in a friendly and comfortable environment.

In the vanguard of the Sustainable Food movement, the founder of Lumière, and multiple award-winning Chef Michael Leviton, built his menus and business around a strongly defined ethic: work with great products that were raised and harvested locally, and foster strong, mutually-beneficial relationships with their local producers–a model we carry with us today into the next generation of Lumière.

Today, Chef/Owner Jordan Bailey, along with General Manager Larry Cunningham, and Beverage Director Chris Graeff strive to keep the beliefs, techniques, and standards that Lumière was founded on alive and well, while bringing their own unique, and updated, ideas to the experience.
