Announcing Needham Community Farm’s First Spring Seedling Sale
The Needham Community Farm’s inaugural seedling sale is scheduled for May 8th and May 22nd. The sale will be held on the Needham History Center’s front lawn located at 1147 Central Avenue from 10AM - 3PM or whenever all the seedlings have found homes.
Cool weather seedlings on sale May 8th will include packs of bok choy, mixed Asian greens, kales, chard, mixed lettuces, and mixed herbs. On May 22nd, everybody’s favorite warm weather seedlings will be offered including heirloom and cherry tomatoes, hot and sweet peppers, Italian and Asian style eggplants, basil, herbs and an array of flowers. All seedlings are sustainably grown, using only organic-approved fertilizers and pest control. A full list of potential seedling varieties and pricing can be found at NeedhamFarm.org.
All COVID related requirements and advisories will be enforced, so please wear your mask and observe social distancing.
The Needham Community Farm is a non-profit organization with a mission to fight food insecurity, educate about sustainable growing and nutrition, and build community through volunteerism. Each year, over 50% of the produce grown at the Farm is donated to Needham neighbors in need. The Food Donation Program is entirely supported by donations.
